
Covid-19 Make-up Risk Assessment
As a professional make-up artist with formal training, Claire has always adherred to strict hygiene rules and regulations. In light of Covid-19 (coronavirus), Claire has now undertaken various Covid sanitation, hygiene and protection procedures.
In order to work safely, there will be changes to the way in which make-up artists now formally work. All clients will be required to sign a Covid-19 waiver, this will be emailed prior to their appointment.
Bridal & Private Clients
Here are the measures I will make to manage risk in my business:

Clients temperature shall be checked upon arrival

As makeup is classed as a close contact service, it often may not be possible to maintain social distancing guidelines. As a result, personal protective equipment (PPE) in the form of a mask/visor will be required by the client before entering into the makeup chair, to mitigate the risk

I will be wearing the required PPE which will consist of mask, visor and apron. My hair will be tied back

Hands will be washed & sanitised before and after each client

Clients will be advised to wash & sanitise their hands on arrival

1 and 2 meter distancing will be followed where possible.

All bridal consultations and makeup classes will be taking place at my home address

My premises will be fully sterilised prior to clients arrival

Each client will have a separate brush set used on them and disposable brushes/sponges where necessary.

All cosmetics and tools will be fully cleaned and sanitised prior to clients arrival and normal measures taken to avoid any cross-contamination.

All disposable items are bagged and safely removed between each client

All clients will receive a consultation sheet via email to complete at the beginning of their appointment

I have reduced the number of appointments available each day, to allow more preparation time in between each client

Unfortunately, I will not be able to offer refreshments at my home, but you are more than welcome to bring along your own bottled drink if you would like to

While working on location I will apply the above sanitising methods to my workspace/personal hygiene/PPE. Only one person (the client) at one time will be allowed in my working space. Additional time will be required after each client to sanitise the work area and prepare for the next client
